Love is Action (Feb20)

Love is ACTION.
Love is a commitment.

1 John 4:19-21
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

John 21:15-17 (Jesus Reinstates Peter)
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”

“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”

17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.

-->"Strengthen your family ties and you will tend to succeed."

Luke 10:25-37
(The Parable of the Good Samaritan)
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’a]">; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”

28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denariic]">[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

--> Motion first before Emotion
--> When a man can help and does not, then he deserves to suffer.

Ultimate Secret: God loves you!!!

Love is Action

Last Friday, it was discussed that Love is Action. There is this story that the pastor and his sister argued. The pastor knew that he need to apologize even though it's not his fault because Love is Action. Last night, John and I had a misunderstanding. I fell asleep thinking about this and none of us gave in. It seems that at the back of my mind I always do the first move. He didnt even bother do it first. I woke up with heavy eyes and heart. Next time, I'll see to it that it wont happen again.

Flywheel

It's a Christian movie last 2003. The producers are those who created the Facing the Giants and Fireproof. While Facing the Giants are about challenges in life, Fireproof about Marriage stuffs, Flywheel is about doing honest work. All these are through faith to God.

Again, I got teary eyed to this film. God is truly amazing once you surrender everything to Him. Though is is just a fictional movie, there are more stories like this that shows greatness of God. It made me realize how dishonest I am at my work.

Lord help me do the right thing. Help me surrender and let Your will be done.

Road

While watching Sungkyunkwan, i came upon this quote:

If there's an easy road and difficult road, choose the difficult one.
Then even if you may not always succeed, you won't have any regrets.

I just realized that I loved my comfort zone. In one month time, I'll be transferring to another team with different skill set. Honestly I'm scared but I have to start growing. I know God will not allow me if I'm not capable. It's in Him that I'll have strength and knowledge. And with Him I'll succeed.
